Lawyer Directory (Ottawa)

GROW YOUR PRACTICE! Dementia Justice Canada is offering lawyers the opportunity to join our Lawyer Directory. This is a list of lawyers in the Ottawa area who have agreed to provide a free 30-minute consultation to people who have attended the Dementia Justice Clinic for legal information on a variety of topics such as housing, elder abuse, discrimination, mental capacity, and criminal law.

Dementia Justice Canada is a small federally incorporated nonprofit. Heather Campbell Pope, one of our Board directors and a seniors advocate based in Ottawa, hosts a free in-person legal information clinic for people with dementia and their support persons. At the clinic, Heather provides the Lawyer Directory to attendees who may need legal services.

Lawyer Directory Membership

To be eligible for a directory listing, lawyers must complete a reading requirement on (1) elder law ethics, (2) elder abuse, (3) assisting people with diminished capacity; and (4) good business practices for delivering dementia-friendly services. Links to the materials are included in the rules.

The annual directory membership fee for 2026 is $50. This helps cover clinic operational costs.

If you are interested in joining the directory, please (1) read the rules below, including the reading materials and (2) fill out the application below. Once your application is accepted, you will then be invited to send your annual fee ($50) by e-transfer. Payment is required before you are added to the directory.

If you have any questions, please contact Heather Campbell Pope:

Thank you for your interest in enhancing access to legal services for people with dementia.
