Dementia Justice Clinic (Ottawa)

The Dementia Justice Clinic (Ottawa) provides free legal information to people with dementia and their support persons on a variety of topics such as housing, elder abuse, discrimination, mental capacity, and criminal law.

The program is hosted by Heather Campbell Pope, a seniors advocate.

There is an abundance of legal information online, but sometimes it can be overwhelming to navigate or difficult to know where to start. Heather has hardcopies of legal information brochures for you to take home, and she also wants to help point you to useful resources in the community, including lawyers and organizations that provide legal services.

IMPORTANT: This is a legal information program. No legal advice will be provided. Heather is only there to help you find legal information and resources on a variety of topics.
The conversation will be general and not tailored to your specific case. If you need legal advice, please contact a local lawyer.

Upcoming locations:

Lansdowne Farmers' Market
Aberdeen Pavilion
Sunday, January 25, 2026
10:00 am to 3:00 pm

No appointment is necessary. Please just drop by the community booth. Information is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. To better serve you, please consider filling out the Intake Form below. This helps Heather gather and bring the relevant information and resources to share with you. You can also contact
 Heather to complete the form.

If you are housebound, in hospital or in a care home, Heather may be able to visit or call you to provide legal information. Please contact her to discuss this option.
